Handmade Grips

Shaped to your hand, not a mold.

Factory grips come off a lathe by the thousand — one diameter, one length, one shape for every angler who buys that rod. We turn every Clarion grip by hand.

Tell us how you hold a rod and how long you hold it, and the cork gets shaped to that — length, taper, and diameter cut to fit the hand that's actually going to fish it.

Built for the Angler

A factory measures the rod. We measure you.

Before a single component gets ordered, we build a profile of the angler — how you're built, how you fish, and what you're chasing. Those numbers drive every decision on the bench.

Two anglers chasing the same fish in the same water still get two different rods. That's the point.

About Clarion

Built for the angler, by the angler.

I grew up fishing native trout streams in the Appalachian mountains with whatever rod I could afford. One day I fished a buddy's rod, built specifically for the bait I was throwing, and started outfishing myself — same water, same bait, same hands.

That's when I learned a rod isn't just a stick with guides on it. Every inch of it is a decision, and most of those decisions get made in a hurry, on an assembly line, by someone who's never fished it.

I started building my own rods in 2018 — dialed to my exact cast, my exact presentation, my exact hands. Not because I wanted a hobby, but because I couldn't ignore how much precision was being skipped just to hit a price point. When a rod is built right, down to the smallest detail, you feel it before you even cast. It becomes an extension of your arm instead of something you're fighting.

That's the standard every Clarion rod is held to. Built one at a time, by hand, with the same obsessive attention to detail I'd want if I were the one holding it on the water. Because I am.

If I won't fish it, I won't build it.

★★★★★

“By far the most responsive rod I have ever owned.”

Stands up to more than any factory rod. The balance is perfect.
